Virginia Macdonald is a Toronto based lifestyle photographer who has devoted herself to her craft for the last 20+ years.
Virginia originally studied Interior Design at Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario. When photography was introduced in her final year at college, Virginia realized that these two disciplines could be extremely beneficial to her, so she continued there and received her photography diploma as well.
Virginia has shot for numerous publications and advertisers. Some of her clients include: Architectural Digest, Canadian House & Home, Coastal Living, Air Canada’s EnRoute, HGTV, LCBO, LCBO’s Food & Drink, HomeGoods and HomeSense, Simons , Williams Sonoma, Pottery Barn, as well as the cookbook Farm To Chef with Lynn Crawford.
Virginia is an ardent traveller/adventurer and she has shot stories about wine in Chile, life in southern China, volcanoes in Hawaii, sailing races in Bermuda, and rafting down the Nahanni River in the Northwest Territories. She has ridden a one eyed mule named Marwetha up a cliff edge on Robinson Crusoe Island, just to make sure she got the shot she wanted (she did).
Virginia is serious about her work, but her approach is laid back.
Her ability to find the shot has won her many awards but being Canadian, she doesn’t like to focus on that.
